Working With Me

Working With Me

I’ve been ‘celebranting’ – officiating – for 8 years now and I have married hundreds of happy couples. I’m available throughout Queenstown, Wanaka, NZ, Australia and world wide.

If you invite me to marry you we will spend time between now and your wedding day getting to know each other, I want to hear all about your love story, what makes you tick and what the vibe is that you are looking for.

I truly love to connect with people and love sharing in the beauty of everything that a wedding day is.

I take pride in crafting a ceremony that is personal for you two – as traditional, wild or adventurous as you want, where ever you choose to be married I will be there to do it!

By the time your day rolls around I will have guided you through everything you need to know, so can relax and be confident knowing that everything has been taken care of so you can and turn up wearing your best smiles, have fun and create memories!

Working With Me

Sarah is such a kind, absolute gem and a wonderful human. Her energy is beyond beautiful and she was so easy to work with for the entire process; she even helped guide us beforehand with what to expect and how to prepare. She customized our ceremony perfectly and I will remember it always. Despite the 'somewhat windy' conditions, we had SO much fun laughing and hollering. She helped with my dress, helped us with our things, and ultimately, helped to give us the best day imaginable. We are honoured to have had her marry us!! 10/10.

What I Bring to the Table

From our first contact, to our very first meeting - in person or online - I will do my best to get to know you and to continue to build a relationship that means that, come your wedding day, you won't feel awkward having me there alongside you on the day.

Confidence, a presence, like-ability and a big voice ..a creative with words and language at least …….just don’t ask me to draw or paint a picture !

Your Ceremony Journey

Let’s Connect
Whether you’ve found me through socials, Google, Chat GPT or a friend’s recommendation—reaching out is a great first step. Let’s chat about your vision, your story, and what kind of ceremony feels most like you.
Meet Me (Virtually or in Queenstown)
We talk about your style and plans—and also the legal essentials: Notice of Intended Marriage, applying for your licence, and what to expect from the NZ Registrar process.
Crafting Your Unique Ceremony
I’ll tailor-write your ceremony—packed with personality, warmth, and all the good stuff about your ‘journey’ together.
Review & Perfect
You can get a full draft to read, or we can through the flow if you want a surprise on the day but you are given the chance to swap things around, add or take away readings, quotes, laughs or change the flow. We’ll refine until it all feels smooth, authentic, and very “yours”.
Vendor & Day-of Coordination
With 8+ years leading Queenstown and Wanaka weddings, I have vendor contacts and on-site logistical know-how ready to go so your day runs without any hiccups.
Optional Rehearsal
A gentle run-through for nerves and timing if you’d find it helpful—setting the scene so the real thing feels familiar.
Your Ceremony Day
I’ll be there early to ensure everything is set up for you and ready to go.
Final Paperwork Handled
After you say “I do,” I’ll file the marriage documents promptly—leaving you free to enjoy whatever comes next in your day.

The Legal Bits

Once you’ve said “I do,” there’s still a little paperwork magic to make it official — and that’s where I come in. After the ceremony, I’ll lodge your signed paperwork with Births, Deaths & Marriages (BDM), as I’m legally required to do.
Here’s what happens next:
Registration – BDM registers your marriage in New Zealand (and yes, it’s recognised around the world). They’ll send you confirmation once it’s processed.
Certificates – On the day, you’ll receive a signed copy from me. If you’d like the official Marriage Certificate (proof of your marriage being registered - the one that the passport office, banks, and driver licence agency prefer), you can pre-order it from BDM when you apply for your licence for only NZ$33, or order it anytime afterwards.
Changing your name – You’re legally entitled to assume a new name, as long as it’s one you listed on your marriage licence. Some people keep their surname, some take their partner’s, and others hyphenate or blend. Totally your choice. You’ll use your BDM certificate or proof of registration to update your legal documents (passport, bank accounts, driver licence, electoral roll, etc.).
International couples – Most countries accept NZ marriage certificates without issue. Depending on where you live, you might need an apostille or authentication stamp or an official translation. I can point you in the right direction so you don’t hit any red tape.
My job is to make sure the legal side runs smoothly, so you can focus on the good stuff — like champagne, hugs, and that newly-married feeling.

Sarah made our day so special. Her ceremony was thoroughly tailored to our preferences and truly reflected what we are as a couple. Working with her was stress free, she helped us prepare for the day and guided us throughout the whole process. She was patient with us and answered to all our questions. Sarah even incorporated parts of the ceremony in Spanish as we requested.
Her ceremony was warm, welcoming, meaningful and funny. She thought about every moment and every word she said My husband and I highly recommend Sarah to anyone who would like a meaningful ceremony.
